This program aims to create awareness on disability inclusion in all sectors. It is also intended to equip persons with intellectual disabilities, local leaders and communities with knowledge on the rights of people with disabilities with reference to the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities through trainings, meetings with local governments, dialogues on inclusion and regional meetings to share experiences.

Whatever disability one may have, counseling is a necessary component at all levels in order to make the individual function fully in the family or community.

Very often, parents /guardians do not know how to handle intellectual disability; they may either neglect or over protect the disabled. This hinders proper development of the individual as well as social interaction in his/her immediate environment.

Inclusion Uganda believes that traditional taboos, myths and all sorts of beliefs related to intellectual disability have to be overcome by counseling and guidance.
